In the early days of Suburban Fairy Tales, there were a handful of strips that might be considered questionable, such as this particular one. I wouldn’t say that the punchline isn’t kid friendly, but I understand why it could be taken that way. You have to remember that back in 2010 when the iPad first came out, people made fun of the name because it sounded like, well, you know. The humor in this particular strip didn’t hold up over time, especially since iPads have become so commonplace. That’s another reason why I no longer write jokes that are timely — they lose their humor when you look back at them years later.
This strip was actually edited in the book version years ago, but it was overlooked online. Thanks for pointing it out. I have since edited the online version to match what’s in the book.
I thought this comic strip series was kid friendly!
