Last week I took a trip to the St. Clare School in Staten Island, NY to talk about comics, illustration, and writing.  I demonstrated my Suburban Fairy Tales creation process and answered questions from the students from four different classes grades 3-5.

I had such a fun time meeting everyone!  The students were creative, bright, and very funny. I would like to thank the staff, teachers, and students of the St. Clare School for having me!

Rhymes With Orange Collaboration

I recently started providing a few gag ideas for the syndicated comic strip Rhymes With Orange by Hilary Price. The first strip I contributed to will run on January 20, 2017, with others to follow.

What’s exciting about writing for a strip like Rhymes With Orange is that it’s very different from Suburban Fairy Tales.  The gags used in Rhymes With Orange would likely never be used in Suburban Fairy Tales, and vice versa. It allows my mind to explore new territory and approach ideas in an alternate way.

Hilary Price has been drawing and writing Rhymes With Orange, her daily newspaper comic strip, since 1995. It has won “Best Newspaper Panel” four times by the National Cartoonists Society and appears in 400 papers internationally.  It is distributed by King Features Syndicate.

csc_issue2Suburban Fairy Tales will be featured in issue no. 2 of Comic Strip Cartoonist Magazine, which is available for preorder now.  In addition to an interview and an in-depth look at my current and past comics, the second issue will also showcase the work of syndicated cartoonist David Reddick of Intelligent Life, Clay Sisk of Professor Herbert and G.E.O., and Allan Tracy of Floyd.

Comic Strip Cartoonist Magazine goes behind the scenes of cartooning to discover how cartoonists got their start. The publication covers creators’ methods of cartooning, the tools of the trade, and much more.

Yes, I know it’s two months late, but here are some photos from the Suburban Fairy Tales booth at NYCC 2016.  For what it’s worth, I posted these on Instagram in a much more timely manner.
